Rhythm Game Bodega
Welcome to the Rhythm Game Bodega. Under construction. I need to add a Rhythm Game Bodega cat.
My history with rhythm games starts all the way back in 2015 when I stumbled across the legendary TeRa "Made of Fire" video on YouTube. I was intrigued by the title and the gameplay immediatley grabbed my attention. I downloaded StepMania and the rest is history. I also tried osu! around this time, but the call of StepMania was too strong. In 2019, I started playing FlashFlashRevolution and took my first steps on an actual DanceDanceRevolution A cabinet. By 2021, I was fully invested into learning how to play DDR the standard way after discovering Tri-County's rhythm game cabs. 2022 seemed like my peak year of rhythm games where I was playing StepMania, DanceDanceRevolution EXTREME, beatmania, and osu!mania. Oh, and I also tried my hand at Guitar Hero III and later Clone Hero. They're fun games, but I like playing real guitar hehe. :P
Unfortunatley, I decided to quit all these games abrubtly in the summer of 2022 due to an incident and stopped playing altogether for a few months. Since then, a handful of trips to Tri-County have been the most rhythm game action I've had. But now as 2026 kicks off, I think it's time to try to get back up and running. Or, stepping, I suppose.
I'm not sure how much I'll really want to play during the work week, but I want to find time. My StepMania setup these days looks like my iMac with the same model of keyboard TeRa used in his video! Not sure how I managed to find that but I did. As for DanceDanceRevolution, I have a PS2 now that I didn't have back then, so I'm looking to purchase a softpad to play along with the few DDR home versions I own. Maybe someday I'll invest in an L-TEK or something like that. I have to familiarize myself again with the current state of purchasing pads or building your own.
