Squeeze - August 29th, 2026

I saw Squeeze with my dad at Radio City tonight. They're on a tour for their new album called Trixies where they're playing through the whole album.

They had two openers with them which were both new to me. First up was a group called Haircut 100. I thought they were pretty fun and I liked their song "Fantastic Day." Next up was Adam Ant. They had a good energy and their lighting effects were cool, but something was off. The mix was awful. Like it was really bad. The drums were fine for the most part but everyting else was rough. The guitar was way too loud and blown-out, the bass was nonexistent, and the vocals were so buired underneath everything I could barely hear the words at all. On top of that, the guitar sounded a little out of tune. I know that because that's how I sound trying to play guitar. It was a tough listen. I honestly wished Haircut 100 would come back out and play more. But people were hyped for Adam Ant and were standing and cheering so I don’t know.

Squeeze came on last and immediatley kicked things off with "Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)." They played a few of their older songs before launching into a playthrough of their new album Trixies. I thought it was cool, but the vocals were a little too echoey for my liking. It was hard to hear the words which isn’t really a good look (or sound) from a place called "Radio City." But that was fine. The playing was great and it’s always cool hearing an album played all the way through and a new one at that.

After their playthrough of Trixies wrapped up, the played a whole set of older songs starting with "Hourglass." I liked hearing "Tempted" and their song "Third Rail." I think my new favorite song of theirs is probably "Goodbye Girl" because it sounded so fun live and was instantly catchy. The ended their set with "Take Me I'm Yours" and did band member introductions. Towards the very end, their backup vocalist sang a rendition of "Coat of Many Colors" in honor of Dolly Parton.
