What a weekend. My friend came up from Virginia to meet me in NYC for the Vampire Weekend show at Madison Square Garden. They played two different sets on Saturday and Sunday, and they were both amazing. He had introduced me to the band a few years back, and this was both of our first times seeing the band live. We sat behind the stage, but the view was pretty good! It was an unobstructed view, we were just looking at the back of their heads. But the sound was great and it was a unique perspective for sure. The tour is promoting the band's newest album Only God Was Above Us which I really like listening to. Hearing "Ice Cream Piano" as the banner fell was really cool. It's such a great opening track.
